Bookings and Communications Assistant

Your job will be to handle bookings for Motto, Makan and Beyt. For the right candidate there is also the opportunity to manage social media for Beyt and Zawal.

Our ideal candidate would be a smart, organised, recent university graduate who is friendly and efficient on the phone. You will have great attention to detail and strong communications skills. You speak and write excellent English, and speak Arabic fluently. French would be a bonus.

You need to be available Monday to Saturday. For around three days per week you will be based in our beautiful spaces in Mar Mikhael. Beyond this, your work can be done flexibly.

How do I apply?

Can I work flexibly? / I’m a student/I have another job – can I apply?
One of the key tasks is to to answer the phone, email and Facebook messages.  You don’t have to be in the office to do this, but you do have to be available consistently to answer the phone.  Peak times are around 11am-1pm, and 5pm-8:30pm.  Aside from this, we can accommodate flexible working, in most circumstances: just set out your situation in your covering letter.
 
I sent you my application.  Why haven’t I heard back yet?
We will acknowledge receipt of your email.  Then applicants who will be invited to interview will then hear back from us after the closing date, Thursday 3 December at 23:59 (11:59pm).
 
When will the interviews be?
Interviews will be on either Saturday 5 December or Monday 7 December.
 
What is the start date?
ASAP.
 
What is the salary?
The salary depends on the circumstances of the successful candidate.  It’s a junior position, so you should have reasonable expectations, but you can be sure that like all our staff, you will receive a fair salary which we will agree on when we offer you the job.  The package includes training on the job, a discount on products in our two shops, and the opportunity to taste lots of excellent food.  And promotion prospects are good.
